Yes, there's a long way to go but those three points may well be the decisive factor come the end of the season. The defender had no chance of moving out of the way of the shot at point-blank range and the referee was unmoved. Brentford gave the ball away cheaply and Trent Alexander-Arnold rapped the ball into the feet of Luis Diaz. Cody Gakpo won possession in his own half, sprayed a pass to Dom Szoboszlai, who fed Mo Salah. The Egyptian then crossed to Gakpo but he shot just wide. Mohamed Salah released Cody Gakpo inside the box and the forward managed to get past the onrushing Mark Flekken. He then nudged the ball at goal but it rolled agonisingly wide. Six defeats on the trot is demoralising but they've been full of ambition and endeavour in the opening half-hour. Daichi Kamada looked to take matters into his own hands for Crystal Palace but his half volley from distance hurtled off target. Brentford are giving his team a very tough afternoon. Both teams have created decent openings. 15:28, 27' Brentford 0-0 Liverpool By Dan Davis Liverpool worked the ball around patiently before Mohamed Salah teed up Dominik Szoboszlai, whose effort was deflected behind. The forward got the better of his opponent again but couldn't make clean contact on his strike, allowing Alisson to scoop it up. Alexis Mac Allister found Ryan Gravenberch and he opted to smash an effort at goal from 25 yards which Mark Flekken tipped wide. Some saying 5-4-1 others saying 3-4-2-1 to match Palace. I'd argue they are basically the same thing, depending on whether the team has the ball or not, and what this is mainly telling you is that not much has happened yet. Ibrahima Konate lofted a brilliant pass into the box for the makeshift striker, who could only nod down and off target. He had more time than that and it went out off of his back. Brentford should have scored. Mads Roerslev galloped away on the overlap and was played into space by Bryan Mbuemo, a target for several clubs. Roerslev then squared the ball across the face of goal but somehow Mikkel Damsgaard couldn't connect for a simple tap-in. The target was absolutely gaping there. 15:07 'Fast start' By Joe Bernstein At The King Power Stadium Leicester are trying to take a leaf out of Bournemouth's book by making a fast start. They forced a corner in the opening minute and Jordan Ayew has already had a shot on target from close range Incidentally, new signing Woyo Coulibaly is not involved today. He didn't receive a work permit in time to train with the other Leicester players so Ruud van Nistelrooy thought it better to delay his debut a week. 15:06 West Ham 0-0 Crystal Palace By Dan Davis Eberechi Eze pulled the trigger from 25 yards but could only watch on as his strike sailed over the top. 15:05 Leicester 0-0 Fulham By Dan Davis Strong start from Leicester at a misty King Power. Jordan Ayew was laid on two chances in the first three minutes. Kostas Tsimikas delivered the corner and Ibrahima Konate rose highest to meet it. His header stayed in play at the back post but Brentford cleared. They have been the best-performing team this season. They are top and quite comfortable and are favourite for the title. They've done fantastic and play fantastic football and have so many threats. It will be a tough test but we back ourselves against any team. They have lost six straight Premier League matches, their worst top-flight streak since a run of eight defeats in 2001. Justin Kluivert scored a hat-trick and Milos Kerkez put the cherry on top of the cake after smashing into the far corner in stoppage time. Wow. Who saw that coming? Some of those away supporters set off at just gone midnight this morning. The talented 19-year-old was watched by the Eagles' sporting director Dougie Freedman several times this season. It's believed other Premier League clubs were interested but Esse has put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half year deal. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he isn't in the squad today. 14:12 Van Dijk: No Liverpool wobble By Dan Davis Earlier this week, Virgil van Dijk firmly dismissed claims Liverpool may have hit a blip in their title push this season. 'Ooh, so we are in a crisis now?' he joked. 'It only confirms the Premier League is a very tough league where you play against opponents who are very good. 'It was always going to be tough, same with [Manchester] United at home with their new manager and the game plan they have been showing especially against the bigger teams. 'Every game is tough, we have to find a way to win. 'I think if we play like we did in the second half and keep fighting, keep trying, keep finding opportunities then I am very confident we will score goals as well like we have been doing all season.' 14:06 King Power misery By Dan Davis It's fair to say doom and gloom has taken hold at Leicester. This has been a miserable season so far for the Foxes and Ruud van Nistelrooy has been unable to salvage the sinking ship so far. They have shown glimpses under the Manchester United great but not enough, and subsequently sit 19th, two points adrift of safety. They need a big performance and result today, I feel, otherwise the mood around the place could take another turn for the worse. The fans are feeling rebellious - more towards the sporting director than manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. Ruud makes one chance from the midweek loss to Crystal Palace with experience getting the nod over youth in the form of Jordan Ayew replacing Facundo Buonanotte. Fulham are mid-table and captained by Antonee Robinson, judged by many as currently the Premier League's best left back. 14:01 'The tinkerman returns' By James Sharpe At London Stadium Graham Potter, the tinkerman returns. After a starting the win against Fulham with four central midfielders and no strikers, he's switched to a back five to face Palace to match the Eagles' system. Aaron Cresswell plays at centre-back and again it's Lucas Paqueta and Mo Kudus in the attacking roles. 13:59 Robertson dropped By Dan Davis Arne Slot has resisted the temptation to make sweeping changes with Liverpool without a win in their last two Premier League games. Andy Robertson is on the bench with Kostas Tsimikas recalled. It's also just the one alteration for Brentford.
